DAHLIA TALK - ZOOM

How to wake up dahlias

Cuttings - Yes or No

DAHLIA TALK is being sponsored by the Portland Dahlia Society. The club membership has grown substantially in the last couple of years due to Covid and people wanting a new hobby and they chose growing dahlias, but now need to know more about that process.

By adding this zoom meeting on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 7:00-9:00 pm we will reach members that would like to participate in our club meetings but aren’t able to attend or don’t want to drive to a meeting. Please note that this is not taking the place of the regular club meeting that is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00.

At the monthly meetings, we will be doing a hybrid by adding zoom to the meeting.

Dahlia Talk is in addition to the regular monthly meeting. It’s a BONUS!!

The purpose of the Zoom meeting is to allow our members to ask questions and to get the answers to become better Dahlia growers or anything that pertains to the gardens. There is no bad question. Please ask or bring up a topic that you would like discussed while on the zoom meeting.

Some examples of topics: Growing, cutting, fertilizing, pests, pesticides, watering or watering systems, cut flowers, tubers, tuber storage, tools to use in the garden, participating in shows, becoming a judge, where to purchase certain items, soil testing, etc: The list just goes on and on.

We want to this zoom meeting to be fun and informational. Please share your thoughts and ask questions, most importantly we learn from each other on what is shared from these meetings.

Think of this as a Town Hall on growing Dahlias. Share the topics that you would like to discuss with all of the other zoomers that attend and hopefully get the feedback that you need.

It is not a requirement to send in topics, just show up and participate.

For the zoom link, send an email to:      info@portlanddahlia.com.
