The Portland 2018 show was held on August
25-26 at Oaks Amusement Park in the Dance
Pavilion.
The challenge flower was Holltyhill
Black Beauty and the single entry was
won by Margaret Kennedy.
The floater classes were well represented. The triple entry of Mak's Royal Ruby above was entered by Karen Sanchez.
She used a rectangular b
lack container and the contrast between the dark red and black made for a nice picture.

Lexa Cookson won best single entry in
show with her Chimacum Davi.  
This was the first year for floor arrangements and here are two of the entries.
Margaret Kennedy won best arrangement in show with her floor design
featuring a log covered with old  wooden vines. The log was cut down
about 10 years ago and saved for the right occasion.
Gordon Jackman dazzled us with his illuminated design.

Allen Manuel entered this very purple laciniated seedling and garnered a very high score.
On Sunday the club borrowed a passenger van and bused people from the show to our trial garden in Canby at Swan Island Dahlias.
